The last set of blogs! Let’s get a round of applause and a sigh of relief in unison!

In the next two weeks, groups will finalize their projects, because the week after next, we will be presenting the Digital Hub 2.0 projects. That also means this class of closely grouped COM students will be coming to an end. (can we get a sad look from someone?)

Ike had us play the ever-so-popular “guess the salary” for a Senior Director of Social Media at The Ohio State University, which pays $110,000-$120,000….HOW?!

Anyway, the main topic of tonight was jobs. There are a few individuals in the class who are graduating this semester. Congratulations guys! Questions from students included how long to wait before checking back on a job you already applied for and is there a “too late” deadline when applying to a job. Looking for a job can super stressful! The questions asked were on point and were very warranted.

Ike also touches on how resumes and building a strong, but not overly embellished, resume is another key to landing that job! My resume is for sure under construction at this point!

Under-construction

So, here are the questions you all need to think about!

  1. Are you applying to jobs? If so, which keywords do you use to find these potential jobs?
  2. Are you graduating this semester?
  3. What do you think of this extra credit Ike has offered?
  4. What did you all think of our final feast?
  5. BONUS: What toppings would you like to have your pizza?

    1. Are you applying to jobs? If so, which keywords do you use to find these potential jobs?
Yes I am applying for jobs, and the keywords I use are sports media and sports broadcasting. Since I have no real limit to where I will move I can find and apply for a lot more than if I limit myself to the Dayton area.
    2. Are you graduating this semester?
I graduate in June after Summer A term
    3. What do you think of this extra credit Ike has offered?
I love the extra credit because I forgot to do multiple blog posts and it will help a lot.
    4. What did you all think of our final feast?
Final feast?? That was the first feast (probably the best feast), but I do believe we are still getting pizza. WOOOO!!!!
    5. BONUS: What toppings would you like to have your pizza?
I prefer any kind of meat, but I am allergic to pineapple so I would appreciate no pineapple on pizza. Anything else is fair game.

I think Ike intended that to be our feast but we were able to talk him into pizza! Go us! We are definitely his best and favorite class! I also do believe that you will be a fabulous sports broadcaster! I can just see it in you!

So, which extra credit will you be doing?! I think I may do CodeAcademy!

And I am all for a meat lovers pizza! Bring It on!

I literally just galloped up out of my seat over this. Nothing screams “rushed” more than this super short blog! Like Jan, you quickly claimed food as your topic and have it in your title, but where do you talk about it? On a scale of yay to nay, this is definitely a neigh. Also, the gif is very, very distracting. I can barely concentrate. In fact, the gif is too loud and I can’t hear the video.

It’s time I stop horsing around.

    Now for the questions.

I’m not applying to jobs. It’s anxiety-inducing and I’ve endured enough during my tumultuous stint with school. At this point, I’m slightly regretting this degree, but hey, at least I’m officially eligible to teach English in Japan. I’m graduating this semester after several long years and I couldn’t be happier. It seems surreal. “What do I think of the extra credit? I don’t think of the extra credit.” That was a Whitney Houston reference, but I’m 100% no one knows it. Some interviewer asked Whitney what she thought of Mariah Carey and that was her response. You just have to switch “the extra credit” with “Mariah Carey” to enjoy the iconic moment. The extra credit is good and will help make up for some of the tragic grades I’ve received. How could that have been the final feast when we will be feasting on pizza this week? The only topping that should be on pizza is cheese. Everything else is trash.

Are you applying to jobs? If so, which keywords do you use to find these potential jobs?

Right now I have two jobs that I’m pretty happy with and that pay the bills, so I’m not looking for jobs at the moment! But, when I do look for jobs, I mostly look to see if the companies I want to work for are hiring and if not, I use the likes of Indeed, Monster, etc. to find more.

    Are you graduating this semester?

I am not! Spring 2018 will hopefully be it for me.

What do you think of this extra credit Ike has offered?

I’m super thankful for it! It sucked missing out on points for a blog response, but at least this is a nice way to make up for that and also to give myself a little padding going into the final project.

What did you all think of our final feast?

    One word. Delicious.

BONUS: What toppings would you like to have your pizza?

PEPPERONI! I also like pineapple and onion on my pizza, but I have a feeling both of those will get quickly vetoed, but I can settle for plain pepperoni.

Which extra credit are you planning on doing? I am not even sure what was agreed upon since the class was alight chaotic due to chicken feasting.

Hey! I like pepperoni and pineapple too!!! Try that combo from bentinos in Yellow Springs!!!! Soooooo good

    1. I have applied to a few jobs in the Dayton area, mostly through my Linked-In connections using keywords such as “broadcast” and “journalism.”

    2. YES!

    3. I like the idea of going back to codecademy. I always wished we had done a little more with that site personally, because I had never done anything with any kind of coding up until that point. Definitely interesting, I thought!

    4. The feast was a sweet thing that needs to happen at least one more time before the semester is over.

BONUS: I am a big fan of peppers. Green, Banana, Jalapeno. I could eat a pizza with all three of those on there!

    1. I’m indeed deep within the all to stressful job hunt process. I mainly use LinkedIn to do my job hunt because of the Easy Apply feature within the app. My main keywords are Social Media Coordinator, Digital Marketing Coordinator, and Digital Marketing.

    2. HELL YEAH! A long overdue diploma will finally be within my clutches in just a few weeks. Thank God!

    3. I’m never opposed to extra credit in any fashion. The more the merrier in my opinion.

    4. After campaigning for the majority of the semester, my running partner and I were very pleased with the greasy goodness!

    5. Jalapenos and Anchovies, please! Nah jk bring on the MEAT!!

I’ve been looking at jobs, but I’m not applying to any yet. I honestly have no clue what I want in life.
I have two classes over the summer and then I’m finished!
I think it’s great that it’s offered, if anything i’ll probably try out the HTML EC.
    I loved the chicken feast!!!!
Pizza toppings, I’m a thin crust guy..I love Buffalo Chicken Pizza. I also love veggie pizza, so all veggies would be cool. I’m not against meats though.

Since you didn’t answer all of the questions, I am unsure what to comment. Most importantly, what toppings for your pizza Hasan?!?!
